It’s that time of year again—Little League baseball, and let’s not forget softball, is upon us. A time for the young and old alike to take in a local game at one of the many ballfields scattered about the region.
The infamous late Pocono snow appears to have subsided with cleanup crews crossing their fingers the only mounds to maintain will be the pitcher’s in hopes of a timely start to another season.
Area leagues are abuzz with coaches gathering kids and setting practices to get ready. Opening day festivities add equal excitement as league players come together for food, fun and festivities.
Pocono Mountain East Little League is set with an April 26 kickoff for the kids at The Roof field in Paradise. VP of Softball Michelle Swiderski reports the fun starts at 9 a.m. with games including pitch, hit and run along with tricky tray drawing planned for 2:30 p.m. check out www.leaguelineup.com for East’s list of games for all to take in throughout the season.
