Still trying to kick your cabin fever? Step out and see a show in the Poconos! The historic Shawnee Playhouse offers exciting entertainment options in April.
Immortalized on stage and screen by Anne Bancroft and Patty Duke, William Gibson’s The Miracle Worker tells the story of Annie Sullivan and her student, blind and mute Helen Keller. The touching drama portrays the volatile relationship between the lonely teacher and her charge. With scenes of intense physical and emotional dynamism, Annie’s success with Helen finally comes with the communication of a single word: “water.” Performances are scheduled at 2 p.m. on April 18, 25 and 27, and at 8 p.m. on April 19 and 26. Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and $10 for children 12 and under. Prices do not reflect ticketing fees.
The Shawnee Playhouse is located on River Road in scenic Shawnee-on-Delaware. For reservations and additional information, call (570) 421-5093 or visit www.theshawneeplayhouse.com.
