Garlic Festival

It’s the legendary favorite with a kick! The 20th annual Pocono Garlic Festival returns to the Shawnee Mountain Ski Area Labor Day Weekend Saturday, August 30 and Sunday, August 31 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This celebration two decades in the making is bursting with garlic themed food and fun for everyone.

A popular event that keeps on growing with over 60 vendors on site offering garlic-filled food, drinks, desserts and novelties. Featured eats this year include garlic vinegar and even garlic ice cream! There’s also garlic-themed art with pottery and paintings galore! Contestants are challenged to chow down on whole cloves of raw garlic for the chance to be crowned King or Queen of the Garlic Eating Contest. Sign-up is no later than 1:30 p.m. each day.

Entertainment is all around at the festival. There will be live music on two concert stages with a stellar lineup of performers including Christian Porter, The Youngers and more. New this year, visit Peters Valley’s Artisan Tent as theyintroduce beginners and seasoned artists to their studios.
