With $17,000 raised last year as the goal to beat, organizers are kicking it into high gear dishing the dirt on the festivities.

Rick Peoples, friend of the late Billy Frost whose efforts over the years have evolved into this monumental illustration of top notch fundraising, remembers the man’s passion for planning the memorable events with the community to help the disabled. He calls the collaboration,” Great food and great fun with great people” as two area merchants lend a hand.

Pocono Mountain Harley Davidson is the place to be for participants partaking in the Annual Poker Run motorcycle ride. A $20 donation and it’s kickstands up at noon for the 80 mile police escorted run through the mountains ending at Big Daddy’s Barbeque in Bartonsville around 2 p.m.

Come rain or shine, Big Daddy’s tents are ready for some afternoon outdoor music, food and fun from 2 to 9. Owner, Anthony Mazzella speaks fondly of his 2nd year hosting the event taking pride in the outcome for its recipients.

MCSO’s Kerri-Anne Freeo reports funds collected will be used to provide transportation, lunches and other things needed for Special Olympics Fall Sectionals October 5 at East Stroudsburg University.
