Intense excitement heats up as Shawnee Mountain Ski Area gets set to host this year’s Professional Rodeo Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21. Experience the thrill of watching riders compete in fully-sanctioned Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) events including Saddle Bronc Riding, Bull Riding, Calf Roping and more. Expert cowgirls will also be there to show off their skills in Barrel Racing events.
Plan to mosey on in early as the legendary 8th Annual Chili Cook-off simmers back, ready to kick up the taste buds with some of the finest chili in the Poconos! Rodeo events begin at 2 p.m. on both days, with gates opening at 11:30 a.m. for the cook-off where guests are invited to sample and vote on their favorite from a variety of area restaurants, vendors and individual cooks.
You can also enjoy live country music with line dancing or browse the vendors’ bazaar filled with crafts and awesome eats! So coral your friends together and head on out to Shawnee!
