Shawnee: Fall Festival Aficionado

Shawnee Mountain Festival FeatsShawnee Mountain Ski Area, celebrated as one of the Pocono Mountains’ top resort destinations, hosts a list of amazing attractions sure to draw a crowd. As summer makes way to fall, the lineup definitely doesn’t cool with two of the hottest celebrations Autumn Timber and The Pocono Food Truck festivals!

Autumn Timber Festival returned to the slopes and stages of Shawnee Mountain October 11 and 12. Open to the public both days from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; this year’s event featured exciting shows and activities for the entire family!

Timber Team Lumberjack Shows, chainsaw sculpture demonstrations, and high-flying fun from the dogs of the Marvelous Mutts fetched thunderous applause. Pocono Vertical Ventures invited festival guests to “go vertical” with a jump platform, two climbing walls and three bungee trampolines high flying thrills.

Next is the Pocono Food Truck festival welcoming all to savor the tastes of over 15 regional food trucks the weekend of October 18 and 19 with gates opening just in time for lunch at 11a.m. each day. Sights, sounds and sensational fun compliment this celebration of transportable culinary talents including FMX Motocross and Monster Trucks!

Make no mistake; live music and plenty of scrumptious food are staples in Shawnee festival weekends. TF started with the Cramer Brothers Band lighting up the stage Saturday with the Liz Nordstrom Trio taking over Sunday. PFTF steps in serving up the Jim Roberti Trio and Talking Machine. Slopeside seating is available. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs.

One and two day tickets for  2014 fall festivals can be purchased in advance or at the gate. Parking is free.
