As 5K enthusiasts continue conquering clever takes on the endurance run, Country Junction joins forces with Waldorf Entertainment and Carbon Adventure Racing for a spooky spin on the sport with September 19’s Zombie Run or Rot challenge.
Hearts race as participants dodge the drooling departed tackling treacherous obstacles across The Waldorf Estate at Country Junction. Leaping from constructed ledges and makeshift calamities, this fitness feat has created quite a stir returning for its second year at the Lehighton destination.
Coordinator, Angela Moyer considers ZRR, “Great entertainment while getting fit.”
Noting the option to “Run or Rot,” she tells how some have chosen to change roles transforming in this year’s event from training to tackle the trek to terrorizing trekkers as costumed zombies.
Zombies beware; you’re not the only distractions, as spectators have the opportunity to get involved lobbing lumps of “Jell-O Brains” to help out runners.
Day of Runner Rates Range from Elite Runner $70, Runner $60 to Student $55 with a Rotter Rate of $30 arriving 1 1/2 hour early for makeup and a mission to “Grab as many [of the three vital organ] flags as possible one at a time.”
The Zombie Run or Rot challenge starts 9 a.m. and is open to all ages.
