CamelBACK for More LG

Camelback Mountain Resort—sensational snow sports, exhilarating competitions and an array of outstanding giveaways maintains monumental status propelling patrons to outrageous heights. Host to a stellar lineup of events and sights set to ignite the outdoor enthusiast in all, this Tannersville destination is consistent in sending the winter season out with a bang.

Starting with March 12’s TeleFest, the “biggest in the Mid-Atlantic” from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Camelback welcomes experienced and beginner telemark skiers to the slopes along with spectators. The ski technique combining Alpine ski’s with Nordic style bindings fixes only the toe of the ski boot to the ski creating a “free heal.” This increasingly popular event, now in its 6th year at Camelback, welcomes as many as 150 participants each year.

The day begins with a 9 a.m. Uphill/Downhill Race where skiers hike up with gear then telemark ski down. Then it’s off to Telemark Clinics at 10:15 with instructors ready to aid first timers and those looking to advance skills. Noon brings all TeleFest participants on the slopes for a Group Tele with a 1:30 raffle rounding things out including prizes from North Face, Coldpruf Pow, Flylow and more!

Eager to soak up some still more snowy daylong delights? Consider this your invitation to join Camelback’s highly anticipated Parking Lot Party March 19 & 20! Rise and shine then unwind with this outrageous ensemble from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. all weekend long.

In true tailgating fashion, there’ll be grilling, live music, cook-offs even a tailgate decorating competition plus over $4,000 in prizes throughout the weekend. Did we mention anyone can partake in the ever-popular Pond Skimming Saturday from 1:30 to 3 p.m.? The more outlandish outfit brandished the better as you sail down a slope soaring across a pool of icy water. Cool enough for ya’? Oh, there’s more.

Yeah, the foods great, music magnificent, and laughter a given; let’s look at Camelback’s Cardboard Box Derby for the way to go Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. Registration for this free event runs 10 to noon, with donations suggested benefitting local dog rescues Hope for Hannah and Boomer’s Angels.
