Local Talent a-Brewin’ at the Creek

Homegrown LGTake time to appreciate the tremendous talent flourishing throughout the region as the area’s top venues invite guests to enjoy free live performances. Igniting enthusiasm to follow these outstanding local musicians as their careers flourish, This Week’s spotlight shines bright on Barley Creek Brewing Company.

Over 20 years this Tannersville hotspot has not only served some of the tastiest eats in the Pocono Mountains, but its devotion to delivering more as a destination continues to capture attention.

From solo artists and duos, to the outrageously popular annual Summerfest bands, owner Trip Ruvane shares insight on why music matters.

“Everyone loves music,” he says adding, “Barley Creek’s goal is to create a memorable experience for our guests and live music that you won’t find at most of the chain restaurants, helps create memories and that experience.”

Calling local performers “talented, altruistic and just great people,” he explains, “The artists are mostly playing for the guests so a lot of cover songs with skilled instrumentals, and yes, original scores just add to the artistry of making fun.”

Joe O’Malley performed May 14 responding, “Barley Creek is one of my favorites [places to perform].”

Playing for more than 10 years with a lengthy playlist by his side, he agrees, “Interacting with people makes it much more fun.”

Considering Ruvane a pioneer in encouraging exposure for these up-and-coming stars O’Malley pauses,” From the beginning he has always pushed for live music.”
