Steamtown National Historic Site shared a full schedule of diesel-powered train rides this summer with a lineup easily persuading signup to enjoy the ride. Right on track with more to explore, Railfest 2016 pulls into this Scranton destination Labor Day weekend September 3 and 4 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Enjoy Locomotive Shop Demonstrations, Visiting Railroad Equipment, along with Excursions and Train rides. From Hand Car and Caboose rides, to Scranton Limited short train rides and a little lengthier Moscow Excursion departing 12:30 p.m. returning 3 p.m.
Special exhibits include Children’s Discovery programs, Lehigh Valley #353 Business Car and Union Pacific #4012 “Big Boy” Cab tours plus more.
