Local haunts and happenings hotspots in the Pocono Mountains have geared up to deliver a spectacular assortment of Halloween hullabaloo. With Halloween falling on a Monday, the potential for a weekend long costumed celebration is inevitable.
Destinations are ringing in the fun focused on festivities filled with an assortment of games, goodies, even movies into the night. Let’s start off with a few treats (no tricks) speckled with some night frights by date.

Embracing the darkness, Pocono TreeVentures invites those who dare, to take on air with Night Zip Line and Aerial Ropes Rides at Hallowscream Nights 7 to Midnight Fridays and Saturdays with Sunday, the 30th wrapping things up.

Little goblins and ghouls can enjoy Spooky Days on farm with Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm delivering three days of delights: Friday the 28th from 5 to 8 p.m.; Saturday 1 to 8 p.m. and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday October 30th 1 to 5 p.m.
Gather for not-so-scary activities that include a Halloween sing-a-long, crafts, wagon rides and more. Then, look into the “stranger side” after 5 with “spine-chilling fun” after the sun for a little older kids.

Steamtown, partnered with Scranton’s Lackawanna Historical Society, hosts Halloween Roadhouse of Terror with Saturday the 29th and Sunday the 30th featuring “Spooky Spectacular” events in the park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
Saturday there are daytime family-friendly activities suitable for ages 6-15 with storytelling and movies suitable for the younger crowd there’s even a “spooked out” Scranton Limited train ride 10:30, 11:30, 1:30 and 2:30 p.m.
Then Sunday turns toward the young-at-heart encouraging adults to dress up and watch old-time scary movies and hop aboard the “Nay Aug Limited” 10:30, 11:30, 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. featuring an Edgar Allen Poe recitation of “The Raven.”
Park fees for both daytime events include the $7 entrance fee for ages 16+ with kids 15 and younger free with a paid accompanying adult. Additional fee for train rides are $5.
After dark brings to light Roadhouse of Terror for at the park fright each night from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. where a ghostly guided tour of the historic roadhouse has old locomotives and …more along the haunting tour.
