We all consider ourselves somewhat creative (each in our own way) when it comes to holiday gift giving. Whether finding a personalized sweater when you’re stumped on what to get her, or finding that cleverly phrased plaque for a man-cave he now can’t remember where it’s at; we all strive to stump those we love when asked of pre-present hints.
Turning attention toward truly considering what will inspire a spark of your recipient’s own creative juices turns attention to Pocono Arts Council. As its tradition, the ARTSPACE Gallery, located in the PoconoArts Cultural Center at 18 N. Seventh St., Stroudsburg, will open its doors as an art gift shop for the Holiday season.
PoconoArts member artists and fine craftsmen, in a variety of mediums, will display their work beginning November 25th and running through January 2, 2017. Gift items created by local artists will be available in all price ranges.
Hours for the holiday store are weekdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays. A special artist reception and PoconoArts Annual Meeting is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 1. During that time all PoconoArts members will receive a 10% discount on items purchased at the store with an invitation for non-members to join that evening and take advantage of the discount.
The Pocono Arts Council as a local arts service organization serving Monroe, Pike and Wayne counties with the belief “Culture builds community.” Its mission is to build the community artistically and culturally by providing leadership, service and education.
